Review- "Skin And Bone"
Ben
Godwin brings to mind a classic Vegas crooner. His deep vocal groove
supports each song coupled with outstanding songwriting and arrangement. Also,
the production here is top notch and Drinking Gasoline has to be one of the
most brilliant songs ever written! Imagine Tom Waits and Randy Newman watching Asylum
Street Spankers. As a matter of fact, that’s pretty much the feel throughout
the disc. Drinking Gasoline’s place as first track on "Skin &
Bone" sets the pace, as it should, for the rest of the disc. Whether it's
the smoky barroom sound of Outsize Shoes or the acoustic life of the title
track, Ben Godwin shines like a new dime and leaves us wanting a second
disc! Here's one for our Top 10 of 2007! IndependentsOnly.com
